Mahweesh Khan specializes in neurological rehabilitation and has previously worked with inpatients and outpatients with various neurological conditions such as stroke, multiple sclerosis, cervical radicular myelitis, acquired brain injury, Guillain-Barre syndrome, Parkinson’s disease and orthopaedic conditions such as neck and shoulder dysfunction and plantar fasciitis. She is well-versed in assessing and treating gait using pre-gait training strategies, facilitation techniques and appropriate gait aids. Her experiences and academic background in the neurological sciences continue to drive her commitment to promoting physical well-being and health.
Mahweesh Khan earned her Masters in Physiotherapy from McMaster University in 2012 and has completed her NDT certification. She has recently relocated from London, Ontario, where she worked in a rehabilitation hospital for the inpatient stroke rehab unit and the Comprehensive Outpatient Rehabilitation Program. Mahweesh enjoys learning and strives to continue her professional development by taking courses and workshops that help further her knowledge base and improve her skill set to better assess and treat patients. She has an interest in participating in research activities and has thus far presented her research on intervention strategies on neck pain at the International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Physical Therapists Conference 2012.
Mahweesh is keen on experiencing different cultures around the world with the goal of travelling all the continents. She has covered Africa, all of Asia, Europe and North America. She strives to complete South America and Antarctica next!
