Tanya Alisa May is a Speech-Language Pathologist with over 15 years of clinical experience working with adults in an acute care, catastrophic care, rehabilitative, and community-based settings. She is a member in good standing at the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologist of Ontario and is also Alpha-FIM certified.
Her specialty is neurogenic communication and swallowing disorders. Previously, she worked at a community-based position at VHA Rehab Solutions for several years, and has held many hospital-based positions. In addition, she functioned as a Clinical Leader for the Speech-language pathology department at VHA Rehab Services, offering advice and consultation to both speech-language pathology service providers, and to the Toronto Central Management team.
During her professional career, she has incurred over 15 years of professional experience working with adults in acute care and rehabilitative settings as discussed above. Specifically, she has worked with adults who suffer from traumatic brain injury, dysphagia, receptive and expressive communication difficulties, voice, fluency and motor speech difficulties and well as conducted videofluroscopies.
In the duration of her career, she has also had the opportunity to participate on many hospital committees, accreditation committees, and conduct several presentations in the area of adult neurogenic.
