Ava is a registered Social Worker, she obtained both a Bachelors of Social Work as well as a Bachelors of Kinesiology from McMaster University. She also obtained her Masters from the University of Waterloo.

Over the past 16 years she has worked with individuals and families with complex mental health needs in various sectors including hospitals, the education system, private practice and as a Mental Health Worker with a Mobile Crisis Unit. She utilizes a variety of therapeutic modalities with additional certification and training in Children’s Mental Health, Infant Mental Health, Brain Injury Rehabilitation, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, Crisis and Suicide Intervention, Concurrent Disorders, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy as well as Trauma Informed Approaches.

Ava also has a passion towards family and couples counselling and has been fostering her therapeutic knowledge and skills in those areas. Ava offers a warm and engaging space to meet her clients where they are at. Her approach helps to normalize therapy so that her clients can improve their mental health and overall level of functioning, so that individuals can live meaningful and connected lives.
