Sara is a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist with a Bachelor of Arts degree (double major in Sociology & Women’s Studies) from McMaster University and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto.

She is a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, as well as the Ontario Association of Social Workers. Sara also holds a CBT certificate from Wilfred Laurier University and has attended numerous post-graduate trainings demonstrating her ongoing commitment to professional development. Most recently, Sara has completed a certificate in Women's Reproductive Mental Health from Wilfred Laurier. She carries with her over 10 years of experience.

Sara has shown a commitment to working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and other mental health concerns as well as supporting families impacted by mental illness. Sara also provides family therapy that is trauma-informed and empowering. More recently, Sara has been providing couples counselling using the Gottman Method.

As a regulated professional, Sara has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to maintaining her practice. She focuses on a multi-layered approach starting with building a solid therapeutic alliance and utilizing evidence-based modalities from Cognitive Behavior Therapy; Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT). She also integrates a trauma-informed and anti-racist/oppression lens into all her work to ensure that the therapeutic setting is safe, trusting and collaborative and fosters positive therapeutic change.
