Sara is a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist with a Bachelor of Arts degree (double major in Sociology & Women’s Studies) from McMaster University and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto. She is a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, as well as the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
Sara has, over the past decade, shown a commitment to working with individuals experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression and psychosis as well as supporting families impacted by mental illness. She has recently completed her Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 1 training and also provides couples counselling as well as family therapy.
As a regulated professional, Sara has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to maintaining her practice.
She focuses on a multi-layered approach starting with building a solid therapeutic alliance and utilizing evidence-based modalities from Cognitive Behavior Therapy; Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT).
