It is the mission of our physiotherapists to integrate client centered techniques to assist in restoring function, maximizing strength, flexibility, and movement, and improving aerobic conditioning.

Specifically, the physiotherapist will design and implement a customized program for each person. By avoiding “cookie-cutter” approaches and taking into consideration each person’s individualized needs we can best assist our patients, including those beset by numerous issues including:

  • Arthritis
  • Diabetes
  • Stroke
  • Traumatic brain injuries
  • Spinal cord injuries
  • Respiratory conditions

What to expect:

During the initial visit, our physiotherapist will conduct a detailed assessment aimed at determining the nature and extent of symptoms prior to designing and implementing a customized program.

During the initial assessment, our team members will inquire as to the nature and severity of symptoms as well as any other relevant details regarding the person’s medical history.

The physiotherapist will then conduct a physical examination which will examine specific movements, in order to gain a better understanding of the individual’s type and level of impairment.

The physiotherapist will then, with input from the treatment team and the individuals themselves, design a program aimed at addressing the patient’s particular issues.

Typically, the physiotherapist will make use of the following during treatment sessions: Physiotherapy Services Burlington

  • Manual (hands-on) therapy
  • Therapeutic exercises including stretching and strengthening
  • Therapeutic modalities including heat, cold, ultrasound, and interferential current (IFC)
  • Acupuncture
  • Techniques to improve heart and lung function and cardiac conditioning
  • Education and recommended treatment modalities and prognosis for improvement

With respect to the programming it is important to note that treatment is not static but rather is fluid and responsive to improvements in function.
As the person progresses so does the level and intensity of treatment.

Our team of physiotherapists have extensive clinical knowledge and hands on experience and have treated many people with the following conditions:
