Linda is a Registered Social Worker with over 20 years experience and formal training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to address PTSD and Complex Trauma. She is also a Professor at Niagara College in the Social Work Program.
Her career started in Child Protection before becoming Therapist for Victims domestic violence. During this time, Linda facilitated groups for Women with intellectual disabilities teaching awareness and safety in relationships and was Senior Facilitator with the Partner Assault Response Program working with perpetrators of domestic violence. After 15 years Linda took a job at Brock University in the Counselling Department and started Private Practice.
Linda is a client centered therapist with an anti-oppressive perspective working from a multitude of evidence based therapeutic approaches tailored to client needs to address life’s difficult challenges. She has extensive experience working in the areas of abuse, relationships & forgiveness, loss & grief and the subset of anxiety and dysregulation; specializing in the complications of complex trauma.
Linda’s goal in life is to reduce suffering and facilitate healing. Together we will establish the most effective tools for your “Tool Box” to navigate your life and empower you to define and achieve life goals for yourself
On a personal level; Linda balances her life spending time with her husband, adult children and grandson, campfire conversations with friends, kayaking, collecting rocks from lakeshores and reading novels.
